Ever since 3rd grade I have been playing basketball. Basketball was something for me to do to get my mind off of things. Whenever I'm having a terrible day, I would always stop and pick up a basketball and start shooting around. I have been playing for 6 years and this year I am going to take a break. I played for the Little Lady Lancer for 4 years and I was on the Loyalsock Lancer Middle School basketball team for 2 years. I first got inspired by the sport by my older brother, Zack. When he was in elementary, middle, and high school he played. I always watched him play and I wondered what it would be like if I played? So when it came around for signups, I signed up. Zack quit his freshman year to pursue his passion in baseball. But I would never drop the sport of basketball for another sport. Turn out, this year I quit playing for a year to make my grades perfect! Last year, I wanted to quit so bad, it got tough, and I finnaly realized, basketball as the elementary years are nothing compared to Middle/High school basketball. It's tougher and you run constantly. I talked to my coach and she told me quitting will never get you anywhere in life. Instead of stopping at my goals in life, reach farther. She knew that deep down inside I wasn't a quitter. I was't going to let the toughness reuine the passion of the sport I love most!
